He was not held against his will.
He was not threatened.
He was not assaulted.
He left the site on his own free will.
Upon exiting the building he chose to punch out a window at the front door as an act of rage, causing his self inflicted wounds.

No one kept him from leaving ever. His cuts resulted from breaking the apartment building's front door glass instead of using the exit button to unlock the door.
