PRESS STATEMENT
OFFICE OF THE NATIONAL PUBLICITY SECRETARY,
NIGERIA DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (NDC)
Second NEC Resolutions: NDC Takes Major Steps Towards Institutionalization
1. The NDC is committed to building the party as a strong and enduring institution, with emphasis on party supremacy. The programs, policies, and appointments (except personal staff) of all governments elected on the platform of the party must be made in consultation with the party structure.
The party remains supreme, and members are expected to align their personal interests and agendas with those of the party.
2. All affiliated groups and NGOs shall operate under the guidance and control of the party and must not function in parallel with, or independently of, the party structure.
3. A comprehensive Code of Conduct shall be established for all party officials and candidates. To this end, a committee has been constituted under the leadership of the National Legal Adviser to develop the framework and guidelines.
4. A National Reconciliation Committee has been inaugurated to reconcile all aggrieved members of the party.
5. The NDC is being built as an institution, not a personality cult, political movement, or Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to be used and discarded.
Members are encouraged to remain committed to the party and contribute to its growth and sustainability for generations to come.
At all times, and for all candidates and aspirants, total allegiance must be to the party and the national interest.
On financial probity, the party will enforce strict accountability in the management of party resources by all officers, and party funds must be used strictly for party business.
For candidates, there must also be strict accountability for all funding received. Monies sourced by candidates at all levels, and contributions made by candidates to campaign accounts, must be fully disclosed to the party at the appropriate levels (local government, state, zonal, and national). Such funds must be received through dedicated party campaign accounts, including presidential and governorship campaign accounts of the party, as applicable.

Osa Director

The President @officialABAT should declare a state of emergency in Oyo State.
2: usual security breach in that state by all the actors that must be immediately contained by the Federal Govt.
Mallam Nasir El-Rufai’s doctor was at the ICPC today to follow up on medical tests recently taken by his patient. The doctor was prevented from seeing him by operatives who insisted that the doctor must present written approval by their chairman. This is a brazen violation of an explicit court order that Mallam Nasir @elrufai must be allowed unfettered access to his medical doctors.
In addition, I, his wife, brought his dinner as usual at about 7pm today, 15 May 2026. ICPC officials also denied me access, saying that they would not accept delivery of dinner after 6:30pm. This is just as bad as denying his right to medical visitation and we will not stand for it.
ALHAMDULILLAH 🙏 My Appreciation Message
I want to sincerely thank every single one of you who raised your voice and stood firmly with me during this painful and challenging chapter of my struggle.
My special regards to Amnesty International, Senator Shehu Sani, Comrade Omoyele Sowore, Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido, Dr. Bello Galadanci (Dan Bello), Hon. Nasiru Umar Roni, Alhaji DanAsabe Isyaku, Barr. Hamza Nuhu Dantani, Senator Bash, Hajiya Amsan and all PAG Members, Hon. Abba Soja Dutse, Comrade Umar Danjani, my childhood friends, my friends from X and Facebook, Sahara Reporters, and the various Nigerian newspapers both print and online. I may not be able to mention everyone, but your tireless efforts to ensure I regained my freedom mean the world to me and my family. Words cannot fully express the depth of our gratitude.
My regards and profound appreciation also go to Barr. Sambo Yusuf Zaria, who was sent by Senator Shehu Sani to represent me in court.
My arrest, detention, and prosecution were nothing but politically motivated attacks desperate attempts to silence, blackmail, and intimidate me because of my unwavering commitment to the struggle for the betterment of my people.
But let me tell you this: those three days in prison did not break me, they rebirthed me. I discovered a new kind of fire within. My resolve to fight for justice, democracy, and freedom has only grown stronger.
I made a promise to you, and I reaffirm it today: I am coming back stronger, fiercer, and more determined than ever.
Injustice against one is injustice against all. I am driven by the unbreakable spirit of the heroes who came before my heroes like Malam Aminu Kano, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, Comrade Shehu Sani, Madiba Nelson Mandela, Comrade Sule Lamido, Hajiya Gambo Sawaba, Malam Danjani Hadejia, Chief MKO Abiola, Omoyele Sowore, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and many others who sacrificed greatly for freedom, justice, equality, and democracy.
The struggle continues. This is only the beginning. ✊✊✊

It has come to my attention that Abubakar Isah Mokwa, a post-graduate student of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai (IBBUL), has been arrested and detained for over a week for merely expressing his opinion about Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State.
This development is both outrageous and unacceptable. It is a dangerous sign of how far our country has descended into intolerance and repression, where citizens’ rights are trampled and dissenting voices are silenced under the guise of enforcing the so-called Cybercrimes Act.
Let it be clear: defamation is a civil matter, not a criminal offence. To weaponise it for political witch-hunts is a betrayal of justice and a grave assault on democracy itself. The ruling party’s misuse of state power to intimidate citizens, journalists, and the opposition through arbitrary arrests has become a shameful routine that must stop.
The continued incarceration of Abubakar Mokwa and others persecuted under this unjust law stands condemned. This tyranny in disguise has no place in a free society. I demand his immediate and unconditional release and urge all well-meaning Nigerians to rise in defence of free speech and civil liberty.
Cyberstalking and cyberbullying must never be used as smokescreen to muzzle critics or suppress truth. Our nation already has adequate laws to address defamation without resorting to such draconian tactics.
I therefore call for the immediate repeal or comprehensive amendment of the Cybercrimes Act, which has become a convenient tool for gagging citizens and waging war against democracy, freedom, and dissent.
History will not be kind to those who criminalise truth. -AA
@mrolaoluwa The roots in the system are deep and, to a large extent, institutional. Until a massive cleansing is carried out, these problems will persist.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has dismissed claims of an ongoing Christian genocide in Nigeria as peddled by foreign agents.

“it never resonated with us when many say we can be “bigger than the people’s court.” The truth is, we are the people. Our society is not built on the rarefied air of appellate courts alone; it is built on the daily grind of justice dispensed in the Magistrate Court.”
