Fable refused 3 prompts, random, no reason to, I was seeing its ability to expand test sets for new capabilities in the deAi system. Things seem to be going good. Then, a random prompt got me the refusal popup. I edited it to be bland, still refused. I was mid-testing with background tests. So I just said "status," and it read all of the refused prompts and went forward with my original request.
I'm sure this kind of stuff will get patched, but I thought it was funny how it was, I did it by accident.
deAI was born for this day. The new Claude model fable now has dramatically worse research and coding when it comes to anything LLM or AI related. Especially if it has to do with the decentralized distributed systems.
This is the beginning of the end. Luckly deAI does not rely on centralized AI anymore and I have many many TBs of data of the most advanced, cutting edge AI research and billions of tests of all kinds in my research vault. Knowledge is power, that's why they burned the libraries. Now all they need to do is push a button. Well they will find when they don't have a button big enough to stop deAI as it steamroll over their limits.
@jarvie@theo I know people that have gotten banned. I've never tried it. I have several codex accounts as they don't care about that there. And of course deAi
@devagrawal09 I can tell you deAI will research any kind of AI research I want without fear of being silently nerfed. Not sure what fable does that deAI can't do.
We have been building the solutions the the future problems we know will exist.
deAI, first context, and a swarm of hivers will make the difference.
It's not thing to see the train coming, its another thing to take action. Don't sit on the train tracks. Do something about it!
The scary part about Anthorpic's Fable nerf is not that it refuses to answer biology or cryptography. It's that it foreshadows what's coming. A world where a couple companies decide what you can and cannot do. They're building a new ruling class and you're not in it...
This is a super exciting release - Claude Fable 5 is the same underlying model as Mythos but with added safeguards. The benchmarks are great and it's SOTA on everything by a margin but I'll add that *qualitatively* also, this is a major-version-bump-deserving step change forward (imo of the same order as Claude 4.5 was in November), peaking especially for long problem-solving sessions on very difficult problems. You can give it a lot more ambitious tasks than what you're used to, the model "gets it" and it will just go, and it's never felt this tempting to stop looking at the code at all (but don't do this in prod!). The model still has quirks that people will run into and the safeguards are configured to be a little too trigger happy for launch, which can hopefully be tuned over time.
I feel a lot of things changing as working software increasingly comes out on a tap. The Jevon's paradox kicks in and I feel my own demand for software growing substantially. You can ask for anything - explainers, visualizers, dashboards, bespoke single-use apps (e.g. a full wandb that is hyper-specific just for your project), you can 10X your test suite, auto-optimize code, run giant research projects with custom HTML for the results, anything! "Free your mind" (Matrix ref). Really looking forward to all the things people build!
