Clippers add Owyhee standout Jordan Allen
Coach Smith on the addition of Allen: “Jordan is the ultimate competitor. Adding another kid from a winning program at Owyhee is huge for us. Jordan brings incredible IQ, toughness, and leadership to our backcourt.”
One of the most memorable leadership lessons @erinmatsonn shared came from a conversation she had with legendary coach, @CoachMackBrown.
"Your people need to know that you'll fight for them."
When your players, staff, or team know you'll advocate for them, support them, and stand beside them...
That's where trust is built. That's where buy-in comes from. That's where people are willing to give their best.

And making a 28-8-7 line look easy in 39 minutes to charge his team, missing its top two scorers, to a 2-0 series lead.

So fun watching my kiddo hoop with high level dudes. My guy can hoop a little. Lol. Super proud of Jordan. Long week for my dude but couldn't be more excited for him and what's to come.
@mar5hallhoops its so crazy, I feel for teams these days cause there will never be a real "brotherhood" anymore. The lifelong memories and friendships that used to be build. Now its greed and people trying to make more money. The rosters are never the same year to year.
Congrats Jordan, incredibly grateful for some amazing opportunities. Great schools, coaches, athletic and academic programs. Can't wait to see what you decide. Love you kiddo.
So @CoachCoriClose didn’t all of a sudden become a great coach because she won a championship. She’s always been a great coach. The championship is just proof of all the great things she has done to lead her team.
There are so many great coaches out there doing it the right way that just haven’t won it all yet. I want to encourage these coaches to keep doing things your way and the right way! See what I wrote about Cori years ago in the Power of Positive Leadership. Stay the course!
I’ve talked and written about @CoachCoriClose for years. I’ve spent a lot of time with her and she’s a dear friend. What I valued most was the way she always poured into her players. When one of them was in the hospital Cori slept in a chair in the hospital room and stayed several nights with her. This is just one example of her many commitments and sacrifices. The world now sees the championship but they don’t see fifteen years of sacrifice, love and commitment to her players that finally led to this great accomplishment. I’m so glad that everyone is now getting to see and hear how great she is!
