Erwin Schrödinger postulated his famous equation in 1925 - work that resulted in his Nobel Prize in Physics in 1933. The equation provides a way to calculate the state of a system and how it changes dynamically in time. |ψ> is the state of a system and H is its Hamiltonian.

Niels Bohr won the Nobel Prize in 1922 for his work on the structure of atoms. He described the atom as a small positively charged nucleus surrounded by waves of electrons.
