97 years ago, SCOTUS decided Buck v. Bell, holding that the forced sterilization of an incarcerated disabled person is constitutional. SCOTUS never overturned that decision. Disabled people continue to face sexual + reproductive oppression. #TheBuckStopsHere#DisCoRepro
The decision was an attack on bodily autonomy rooted in ableism, racism, sexism, and eugenics. On Disabled Reproductive Equity Day, we reclaim our rights and our bodies and move toward collective liberation.
