Local Effort Feeds 40 Families: Donations Needed to Double Impact This Weekend
NEEDS:
The most urgent need is Costco Gift cards or donations to fund grocery purchases.
Delivery Drivers (3-5, from 3-5pm)
Pickup Coordinator (2 locations needed from 3-5pm or till all are picked up)
NEW Small or medium Home Depot/Budget/U-Haul boxes (Must be new as they will hold food) and packing tape.
Fresh produce that is counter stable (potatoes, onions, cabbage, carrots, citrus), enough for 80 boxes
Thanks to the combined efforts last weekend, 40 families, most of whom live in Foster City, received full grocery boxes in time for the holiday. We need to emphasize that the most critical need now is financial support, as the entire effort depends on raising enough money to purchase the food.
Donations can be made online at: https://t.co/aBhAhdRCgH
The first priority for all funds raised is buying food for families this Sunday. Any money collected beyond what is needed for groceries will be used to purchase holiday gifts for local children, extending the impact of this effort into the rest of the season.
Families in need, or those who know someone who could use support, are encouraged to text (650) 573-7600 with an address. Volunteers or those with questions can also email [email protected]. Deliveries are made discreetly, with no questions asked. If you are more comfortable picking a box up, you may do that as well.
Packing will be done at Aligned Healing Chiropractic in Beach Park Plaza.
