There must be urgent action to stop a jobs and living standards catastrophe.
This means:
➡️ Extending the furlough scheme;
➡️ Raising the level of Statutory Sick Pay for all;
➡️ Banning evictions and support for renters;
➡️ Large scale support for industry and public services.
This Government’s approach to fighting Coronavirus has been a disaster. Today, they should have announced a totally different approach.
We urgently need a proper tracing, tracking and isolation system, plus action to protect people's jobs and livelihoods.
