In Charlotte, while Border Patrol was actively conducting mass deportation operations, 66% of the illegal aliens they encountered already had serious criminal histories.
Read that again.
This isn’t a random sample from the border. This is what agents found when they went into the interior and started removing people.
Two-thirds of the illegal aliens they came across during these operations already had serious criminal records.
That number should end the debate about whether enforcement is “unnecessary.”
When you actually do mass deportations, this is what you find.

🤔Timelines, Patterns, Bilateral Deals & One Signature. Three Gates.
On Sunday, the U.S. Treasury published a proposed rule for how stablecoins digital dollars will be regulated in America.
Buried in the legalese is a single clause that connects trade policy, monetary policy, and crypto regulation into one system. Nobody has noticed yet because these things are covered by different reporters on different beats who don't read each other's documents.
Here is the clause, and here is what it means.
The rule
Beginning January 18, 2027, no one may issue a payment stablecoin in the United States without a federal or state license.
Beginning July 18, 2028, no digital asset service provider may offer or sell any payment stablecoin to anyone in the United States unless the coin was issued by a licensed issuer.
That's the domestic side. Every stablecoin Americans can buy must come from a licensed, regulated company. No exceptions.
Now here's the foreign side.
Foreign-issued stablecoins may only be sold to Americans if two conditions are met. First, the foreign issuer must have the technological capability to comply with any lawful U.S. order meaning sanctions screening, freeze orders, law enforcement requests. Second, there must be a reciprocal arrangement between the United States and the issuer's home country.
No reciprocal arrangement, no access to American consumers.
The bilateral deals
Right now, the United States is negotiating bilateral trade agreements with dozens of countries. The 10% baseline tariff from the Section 301 action covers 60 economies. Countries that sign a bilateral deal get their tariff rates negotiated down. Countries that don't sign pay the full rate.
Those deals are being reported as trade policy. Tariffs on goods. Import and export terms.
But read the GENIUS Act rule again.
A country that signs a bilateral agreement with the United States doesn't just get tariff relief. It gets reciprocal arrangement status. That means its financial institutions can issue stablecoins that are legal to sell to Americans. Its payment systems can connect to the U.S. digital dollar market. Its banks, once chartered or licensed, can operate inside the U.S. stablecoin ecosystem.
A country that doesn't sign gets none of that.
The bilateral trade deal and the stablecoin access deal are the same deal. One signature. Three gates: goods, money, and digital currency.
What this means in practice
If you're Japan and you sign a bilateral deal with the United States, your exporters get lower tariffs, your banks can seek stablecoin licenses, and your digital payment systems can interoperate with the American market. You're inside the system for all three.
If you're Iran, there is no bilateral deal, there is no reciprocal arrangement, and your stablecoins your digital currency of any kind cannot legally be sold to an American. Your exchanges get designated by OFAC. Your wallet addresses get published on the sanctions list. You are outside the system for all three.
If you're India and you're at the BRICS summit in September discussing linking your central bank digital currency with China's and Russia's you're simultaneously negotiating a bilateral deal with the United States that would give you access to the world's largest stablecoin market. You can sit at both tables. But the stablecoin access requires compliance with U.S. lawful orders, which means OFAC screening, which means the entire American sanctions architecture applies to your issuers the moment they want to reach American consumers.
You can link your CBDC to Moscow's. But if your bank also wants to issue a stablecoin that Americans can buy, it has to screen against the U.S. sanctions list. You can't do both without choosing which set of rules governs your financial institutions.
The two systems
There are now two digital currency architectures being built on Earth at the same time.
The first is the American system. Private stablecoins, issued by licensed companies, regulated by Treasury and the OCC, backed by U.S. Treasuries, screened against the sanctions list. The Federal Reserve is banned by statute from issuing a competing digital dollar. The architecture is: private sector builds it, government licenses and monitors it, and the only way in is through the compliance stack.
The second is the BRICS system. Sovereign central bank digital currencies, issued by national governments, linked through bilateral or multilateral interoperability agreements, settling in local currencies, explicitly designed to reduce dependence on the dollar and bypass the U.S. correspondent banking system.
Both systems are real. Both are being built right now. The question is which countries end up inside which system and whether any country can be inside both.
The GENIUS Act rule gives the answer: you can be inside the American system only if you have a reciprocal arrangement with the United States. That arrangement requires your issuers to comply with U.S. law. Which means you can link your payment system to Russia's, or you can have your stablecoins sold to Americans. Doing both requires your institutions to follow two sets of rules that directly contradict each other because U.S. law requires screening Russian entities out of the system, and the BRICS linkage requires letting them in.
Why the bilateral deals are the key
The United States is not trying to ban BRICS currencies. It's not trying to stop other countries from building their own payment systems. It doesn't need to.
What it's doing is making the rules for the largest consumer market on earth and offering every country a choice: sign a deal with us, and your financial institutions get access to 330 million consumers and the deepest capital market in history. Don't sign, and your digital currency stops at our border.
That's not a threat. It's a sorting mechanism.
The bilateral trade deals currently being negotiated are not just about tariff rates on steel and soybeans. They are enrollment agreements for a monetary architecture. Every country that signs is opting into a system where its financial institutions must comply with American sanctions law, American anti-money-laundering requirements, and American lawful orders in exchange for access to the American market.
The trade deal is the financial deal is the digital currency deal. One negotiation. One signature. Three gates.
The bottom line
Sixty countries are negotiating bilateral agreements with the United States right now. Most of them think they're negotiating tariff rates.
They are also negotiating whether their banks can issue digital dollars. Whether their payment systems can reach American consumers. Whether their financial institutions are inside or outside the system that will govern how digital money moves for the next generation.
