The fundamental assumption in all cricket discourse is ability = performance. We just assume that someone with the best ability in terms of skills and talent will produce the best performances. #PAKvAUS#WTC25#PakistanCricket
That IPL stint for starboy Bethell worked well. Who’d have thought sitting on your arse for weeks is better prep than the county championship 👀 #ENGvsNZ#IPL
Simon Doull has not missed in his view regarding Jofra Archer missing the Lord's Test against New Zealand.
"It's ludicrous. Absolutely ludicrous. How are you paying this guy up to £1 million a year, and he's not available for your first Test match?
"There is no reason that Jofra Archer couldn't have been bowling 6-7 overs (with the red ball) each inbetween day (at the IPL).
"The fact that he's not doing that tells me he has no interest in playing Test cricket."

🔴 LIAM LIVINGSTONE EXPOSE BRUTAL REALITY OF IPL 🤯
🎙️: There is no Skill development in IPL, We chased 230+ in 18 overs at Mumbai. Watching six after six makes the game boring. With flat pitches, the Impact Player rule & high-scoring conditions, there isn't much skill involved for bowlers.
He also pointed out that SRH played on the same Hyderabad pitch for 5-6 matches continuously.🤦
Basically the ECB need to stop twerking for the IPL and lay down the law. If players choose IPL over a central contract, no problem, that’s up to them, you move on. But plenty of England players have chosen to prioritise England recently and I think that will largely continue.
This guy used to be a big promoter of T20 leagues as the greatest thing to happen to cricket! If you've lost him, then you know its not looking good for Leagues.
If teams are going to race 192 in 14 overs in a T20 we might as well pack up this cricket thing.
Just let each side face bowling machines in the nets and see who can whack it the most.
This isnt enjoyable no matter how much they try and market it to you as 'amazing'
@ESPNcricinfo Younus Khan has a better Test record than AB and Kohli, how can he not be on this list? Combining formats is a bullshit metric. Tendulkar sucked in T20s, Sanga sucked in white ball. Do it format by format.
"They give a lot of lip service to Test cricket, but all they really care about is bringing in money into their cupboards... You might win T20 tournaments, but that isn't real cricket—and you'll never be a force in the Test arena."

Overdose of T20 Cricket can be injurious to your health 🚑
Evening session Chennai Test 30th January 1999
- Two early wickets fell.
- The moment the 2nd wicket went down & the crowd erupted because Sachin was walking in.
- That eruption told the story of one man & the faith an entire crowd carried. 🙇♂️🙏
Ultimately its Saqlain Mushtaq's fault for not giving Test cricket any priority. Warne and Muralitharan are ATGs because of their Test careers and records. Saqlain should have gone for at least 400 Test wkts to be remembered among the greats. Even Harbhajan has more wkts than him
There were Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan but Saqlain Mushtaq was able to create a league of his own.
They could NOT do what Saqlain could specially in ODIs. Bowling when the field is up with the new ball and then bowling at the death. Imagine, he was given this role while having Wasim, Waqar, Akhtar and Razzaq in the team.
How good he must be?
These are great numbers but still it doesn’t justify how good Saqi bhai was!
It doesn’t mean, he was ordinary in test matches. 208 wickets in 49 tests with several match winning performances. Truly, the doosra champion!
When I say that India is no longer a normal country and has descended into fascism, this is what I mean. Sunil Gavaskar cannot be dismissed as a "Bhakt". He was a great cricketer, and a decent person. For him to say stuff like this tells you India today is not normal
There are 3 formats in international cricket. T20 is a completely different format than the other two. Select players for their specific formats. Not that hard is it?

Slowly, a hierarchy/ranking of men’s ICC titles is taking shape up in the minds of cricket fans. It goes something like this-
1) 50 overs World Cup.
2) ICC Test championship
3) T20 WC
4) Champions trophy.
