The tygers of wrath are wiser than the horses of instruction, while the spiders of math are wiser at the courses of deduction. “The most factual account on 𝕏”

The number of people writing dissertations in the humanities has collapses, now the same thing is happening in the social sciences.
I'd wager that we will see a similar trend in psychology and other fields before long. Cuts in funding, the tight academic job market, and AI are rapidly changing the university and cratering graduate programs.
And the cat, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the hood of my sedan so poor;
And the engine, vainly longing for the coolant I would pour,

@TheAnnaGat She was telling lies but she wasn’t “lying” (her conscience is clear).
She sincerely believes she’s a perfectly honest person, yet she tells falsehoods all the time.
Got to see You Can See Everything.
I’m not sure I *enjoyed* it, but it was interesting. The most memorable moment was when the husband Billy said he had been a fan of Charlie Kirk and a woman behind me loudly gasped in horror.
Best horror films on this top ten of this list are Alien or The Thing.
Perhaps surprisingly, given that it’s often quite funny, I think Evil Dead 2 is the film that most viscerally *scared* me most.
The best horror film all time for me is Woman in the Dunes, 1964.
Curious to hear from the surprising number of folks who think that smartphones are bad but AI is gonna be good.
I think I can see the argument but it is unexpected to me.
Joel and Ethan Coen confirm they will be reuniting on a new film “soon”
"We're getting old. It better be the near future”
Their last film was “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs,” released over eight years ago.

A lot of philosophy-infused AI discourse is ridiculous because it boils down to this:
"Look at this dumb layperson who believes [contentious view held by some philosophers of mind]. As an expert, I can tell you [contentious view held by some philosophers of mind]."
I’m 49, I have a PhD, I’ve taught university courses for 23+ years now, yet I woke up last night to a dream that I had missed half a semester of an English course in high school, so I was going to have to go back to retake it.
The relief I felt when I woke up was enormous.
