@Riflh97@DanielDiMartino You're right, I don't know Venezuela, and she didn't win any elections.
Her being a non-Catholic is clearly a red flag that things are fucked up, but I think it's unfair to disparage another religion because the politics in your country are failing.
@Riflh97@DanielDiMartino "shouldn't" is doing some heavy lifting here.
If the country feels that way, introduce a law, and don't pretend to be secular.
If she's winning elections, you have a problem with the people, not her.
@TheEmissaryCo This is where narratives play a key role. This is why people like Gandhi or Trump were so disproportionately powerful.
Having the ability to conjure memes into the political economy is like being a billionaire in the regular economy.
@Riflh97@DanielDiMartino I enjoy Daniel's content otherwise. But she really didn't say anything objectionable. "Love all, serve all" could just as easily have been a Jesus quote.
"She's not Christian, Hindu-god bad😭"
Low brow bigotry.
@TheHarrisSultan It's so painful to watch.
They finally get one of these Islamist politicians in front of a mic to defend their bullshit, and they are SO FUCKING BAD at arguing their point.
They just let vile arguments pass, one after the next. Just hand-waved away.
Consequences don't care about legitimacy.
I do think the preference contributes to the bullying manner, don't you?
As a young white guy, when you constantly see women fawning over you, wouldn't you expect that to instill a sense of superiority?
I'm not saying it's justified, it's just unsurprising. If you go around handing kids candy, you probably shouldn't be the one complaining about childhood diabetes.
@AnAn90426221@DanielDiMartino "secular" as it's best understood as separation of "church" and state.
Eastern philosophy has been accommodating of a variety of viewpoints. I would not conflate that as "all religions being true and great" - which is very obviously untrue.
@vajrayudha11 Dumb take.
This is an aspect of Hinduism and Indian culture that didn't feel the need to hide their women to protect them. We should celebrate it and not be ashamed of it.
If you have an islamic or colonial hangover, with the need to protect your women, that's your failing.
agreed. everyone should get freedom in who they like or reject in a bar.
Let me try see about what I was trying to get across:
Indian women* like her will often show racial and skin tone preference for white guys exactly like the one in the video.
I'd contend that even if he was of the same age & physicality of the indian guy, they would often find the white guy more appealing.
It doesn't have to do with the contents of the character (she clearly dislikes the white guy for being douchy), but to be blunt way, he is justified in feel racially superior, because in the metric that he cares about (women's affection) he is superior, and it's their* own doing.
*not all indian women, but most, especially those of OP's physiognomy

@OmarAbbasHyat@Malibu_malpua Ya'll are overthinking this.
"What do these people want?"
They want everyone to either convert to Islam or be ethnically cleanse by them.
They're remarkable consistent on this globally. One would think it's intrinsic to the religion or something.
