@narendramodi With utmost respect, Guwahati is not even among the top 10 busiest airports in India. Couldn't the cost of airport development be better directed towards improving infrastructure to combat the periodic floods that plague Assam?
@juliachaigneau Ran the Ahmedabad Marathon last month. I had mixed opinions about the city. But I'm glad that you are doing fine there... Running across the riverfront is my fav. part about the city.

HOW BRITAIN COULD BECOME A PARKING LOT
1. The world's most powerful nuclear missile is the Russian SS-18 nicknamed 'Satan'. Russia has 46 of these monsters. The Satan has 10 independently targetable reentry vehicles, each with enough payload to wipe out an area the size of Texas (667,000 sq km) or three Britains. Entire Britain will melt and resemble a grey flat pancake. Not a blade of grass will be left on the island.
So Englanders, and their Scottish, Welsh and Irish slaves, who are excited to send troops to Ukraine need to sit down and get a reality check.
Read on about the Satan's fearsome power.
@BangaleVaishnav@IndiaBottomline@MichaelVaughan India has overtaken UK in terms of GDP in 2021. We are only behind US, China, Germany and Japan. We will overtake Japan by 2027, and Germany by 2029. UK itself is reeling through a strife.
@atrupar This meeting was going fine until the point Vance opened his mouth. It became like a kindergarten class where one unruly kid starts other quiet kids to be unruly.

@TimesAlgebraIND He spoke the truth. He is not insulting or trespassing any sentiments. He recognised publicly what has been widely touted as the most brutal and violent invasion of the world. As a reprieve from the Islamic Genocide in Medieval India, many Hindus did convert to Islam. Truth.
@annamalai_k DMK represents the culmination of dynastic politics. Their repeated comments that trespass religious sentiments of millions and non empathetic governance. I hope we see a change for the better...
@realDonaldTrump The wars will end and the leaders will shake hands, and that old woman will remain waiting for her martyred son, and that girl will wait for her beloved husband, and the children will wait for their heroic father, I do not know who sold the homeland but I know who paid the price.
@anandmahindra An event that occurs every 144 years, we could do much more. During the Emergency, IG government mobilized all of the Delhi buses for the purpose of transporting citizens for the rallies. We could similar planning, divert trains, open up express corridors, ban private vehicles...

Had the privilege of meeting Shri @PawanKalyan garu in April 2022 in Bhagyanagar. In my conversation with @BeerBicepsGuy in May 2023,I mentioned him as one of the people to watch out for. Happy to see him grow in what I think will be a long and meaningful journey in Rajadharma.
@airwaysmagazine I saw it parked in the Mumbai airport last week. I was absolutely heartbroken to see in that sorry state. Being an engineer who worked on 787 and 777X aircraft, I respect the craftsmanship and engineering that went into the 747. Godspeed 747, the Queen of the Sky. 🫡

In Mumbai’s Doongerwadi forest, atop a secluded hill, lies a sacred platform known as the Tower of Silence.
Also known as “Dakhma”, this open-air amphitheater, capable of holding over 250 bodies at a time, is the stage for an ancient Parsi funeral rite that has been practiced for centuries. But for this tight-knit community that arrived in India from Persia a thousand years ago, an issue seems to have arisen—a key player in this spiritual saga has gone missing: the vultures.
The funeral ceremony for Parsis starts on a note that resonates with many religious traditions—chanting prayers and paying last respects. But after these initial rites, the similarities diverge dramatically.
The Parsi method of disposing of the dead is rather unconventional. The body is laid out under the open sky, where it is consumed by birds of prey like vultures, kites, and crows. This practice aligns with Zoroastrian teachings that discourage polluting nature by burying or cremating the dead.
However, Mumbai’s vulture population has vanished, rendering this sacred practice problematic. And it’s not just a Mumbai phenomenon; by 2007, India’s vulture numbers had plummeted by 99%, thanks to a drug given to cattle that proved fatal to the birds when consumed.
To adapt, Parsi trustees implemented solar concentrators to expedite the body’s decomposition. However, this solution is not foolproof. The monsoon clouds make solar dehydration ineffective, and smaller scavenging birds like crows can’t pick up the slack as efficiently as vultures once did.
The absence of vultures makes the process slower and emotionally unsettling for some.
The slow decay of bodies has had its impact on urban life. One Tower was closed due to its visibility from newly erected high-rises, and air purifiers were installed to curb odors. These are stopgaps, not solutions.
Although it may take time for a sanctuary to come to fruition, the Parsi community remains optimistic that nature will regain its lost balance, and with it, their ancient ritual can continue undisturbed.
