The heat in Nigeria is not the same as the heat in the UK.
When you are hot in Nigeria, you sweat it out.
Here in the UK, no matter how hot you get, you don’t sweat.
Your body itches you.
You feel hot from inside.
Your head will be paining you.
That’s the difference.
when my 4-year-old’s daycare held a “lunch with mom” event, every single mom showed up. we all have other jobs, which is why our kids are in daycare. but we took off work or found a way to get there in the middle of the day. now, they’re doing an event for the dads … at 6:30 in the evening. it’s a small example, but the double standards are real.
Tolerating always turns to resentment. At first, you call it patience, then love. But what it really is, is self-abandonment. Every time you swallow a boundary, excuse a pattern, or silence your discomfort, something inside you keeps score. And eventually, the bill comes due.
I don't follow people I don't like, I don't watch stories of people I don't like and I don't interact with people I don't like. Y’all got this weird ass obsession with keeping up with mfs you don't like and i find that so strange.
Every time I see someone switch careers, I’m reminded that life is a journey of discovery. You can enjoy a course of study but find the actual work unfulfilling. It is okay to start over to find something you love. We are capable of evolving, so don't settle until you find it.
