President Trump is threatening to end U.S. trade with Spain after criticizing the NATO ally for refusing to commit to the alliance's new defense spending target.

"Spain is a wasted cause," the president said. "We don't want to do any trade business with Spain anymore, by the way."

After NATO leaders agreed on a new goal for members to spend 5% of their GDP on defense, Spain was the only country to publicly push back, pushing for more flexibility, which Trump argues amounts to benefiting from NATO without paying its fair share.

"They don't participate, they don't pay. I don't want anything to do with Spain," he said.

Gavin Newsom accused President Trump and his political allies of targeting his family, saying the fight has moved beyond him and now includes his wife, Jen.

The California governor says she has done nothing wrong and is being scrutinized solely because of her advocacy work.

The governor also claimed the investigation is intended to undermine any potential White House bid he may pursue in the future.

Sources familiar told Fox News that the investigation has been ongoing since 2025 and that the probe is based on whistleblower complaints related to Newsom and his wife's personal finances. The case is being handled by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Sacramento.

The victory was historic in more ways than one. It was the first time the U.S. had won a World Cup match by three goals since 1930 — when America also defeated Paraguay.
