This makes no sense to me. My presumption is that ND is gonna have to, despite its best efforts, eventually join a conference bc the incentive grows, year by year, to avoid tough nonconference games. They will have an ever harder time scheduling power conference teams.

@iowahawkblog @cfbmarbles I’ve always kind of liked this system. But I have a little less faith in it seeing where Indiana is ranked. They came with a whisker of beating the team ranked number three and are otherwise unblemished. Their ranking makes me question the system a bit.

On another level, Senator Schmitt is an unserious and malicious actor whom Mr. Harper has chosen to serve.

In 2006, Hugo Chávez traveled to the U.N. and called George W. Bush "the devil," etc. This is what Charlie Rangel, one of Bush's fiercest critics in the House, said:

"George Bush is the president of the United States and represents the entire country. Any demeaning public attack against him is viewed by Republicans and Democrats, and all Americans, as an attack on all of us."

Nancy Pelosi expressed similar sentiments, adding, "Hugo Chávez fancies himself a modern-day Simón Bolívar, but all he is is an everyday thug."

Trump has yukked it up with Kim Jong-un over Biden, and yukked it up with Xi Jinping, also over Biden. If a Democratic president did the equivalent, Republicans would cry bloody murder -- correctly.

Can Republicans rise to the level of Rangel and Pelosi? They should be ashamed that the question need be asked.
