@jeremyct I don’t doubt your calculation. This is the result of capitalism with no counterbalance. Regulations removed, companies allowed unlimited profit hoarding without any requirement to share profits with workers. Pensions were also cheaper than 401(k)’s for everyone.
@modIRATE@RAD_is_awesome Administrations are afraid of parents. This is due to increase in power through Facebook, email, and the Internet. Fear of parents now drives everything so administrations main goal is parental happiness which greatly lowers standards and prevents discipline.
@MCP11411@RAD_is_awesome Never. Unfortunately Facebook, emails, and the Internet have made parents too powerful. Administrations are afraid of parents. That fear now drives everything. You can have no discipline or standards and also guarantee constant parental happiness.
@teainfo Wait, this task force is going to have like 50 people on it? I know when I want to get things done I like to have a committee of at least 50. All the greatest things in history have been done by groups of 50 or more. 🙄🙄🙄
@jtrayers@Shelly44965751 @dhabecker Most of what is taught in math classes has no real world relevance. However it teaches students to think and problem solve which has massive real world relevance. And is something lacking in many graduates today.
@dhabecker Often kids understand the concept after doing two problems let alone five. But doing 20 is what makes them remember it. The problem is at that age they have trouble moving things to long-term memory. If they only do five instead of 20 it likely won’t be retained.
@k8roulette2 Once again Twitter is being used to torch and pitchfork another teacher. I don’t think a persons career should be ruined when they make a mistake. And the Twitter sphere judges people much too harshly. This is a human being.
@Andrea_Trudeau This pitchfork and torch mentality towards teachers is ruining education. Parents complain at the slightest hint of impropriety and the source of the information is a child with often suspect motives. It’s just a matter of time before we simply can’t find teachers for classrooms
@richardjarogers @DeidraDumm I agree there are some things on wishlist that shouldn’t be there. However teachers should not have to spend their own money on supplies. They make too little. As a teacher I spend 27% of my gross income just on my family medical insurance premiums through the district.
@TheodenHumphrey@JayWamsted@Mssarahmssarah There’s plenty of money if we got rid of all the things we are doing that are completely unnecessary. Unfortunately they’re all mandated by law.
@ABC Q: Why did Trump lose?
A: Because there was voter fraud.
Q: How do you know there was voter fraud?
A: Because Trump lost.
Oh...thanks for explaining. 🙄
@AfeniMills @wokeSTEMteacher @KMD1106 The one on the right is Draconian & ridiculous. However the one on the left isn’t perfect either. Kindness should not entirely replace accountability. That’s the mistake that leads to students unprepared to cope in the real world where accountability is unforgiving & relentless.
@NicoleRLyons @DrRDubKellerISD @KellerISD I can only imagine the incredible stress of the last few months for Dr. Westfall. He has handled it all with grace, character, and integrity. We are truly lucky to have him leading our district. @DrRDubKellerISD
