I strive to always view the world objectively. Always open to changing my mind. Present me with new facts/info, void of personal emotion and bias, & I just may…
To the Americans:
I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States.
And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness:
You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence.
This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns.
Success is equated with exploitation.
Ambition is looked upon with contempt.
This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom.
But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated.
This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet.
And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America:
Thank God for the United States.
Thank God for the wisdom of its founders.
Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man.
Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners.
Long may your admirable country dominate the world.
Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states.
May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning.
Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill.
Thank God for the USA.
Happy 250th.

@AmazonMGMStudio, @PrimeVideo, @JeffBezos this is your Star Trek The Next Generation moment. That series was a smash hit precisely because the original creator, Gene Roddenberry developed it. He created it about 20 years after the original, a very similar situation that you have now with Stargate.
I believe that you’re under the impression that @martingero’s new show would struggle given what happened to StarFleet Academy. That show failed because the writers/(especially)producers had no respect for Star Trek cannon (1966-2004).
Although you should look at the success they had with Picard season 3… Star Trek 2009-2026 has done nothing but decline because they turned their backs on the original formula that made Star Trek special under Gene Roddenberry and his “understudy” @berman_rick. Rick took the helm and went on to produce three more fantastic series (Deep Space 9, Voyager, and Enterprise) after Roddenberry’s passing.
With Martin Gero’s development along with @bradtravelers and @BaronDestructo involvement, you have an opportunity to build upon what has already been, just as Rick did, following Roddenberry’s lead.
If you develop something new without regard to existing cannon, and without the involvement of the original writers/producers, you may as well shelve the IP and never develop anything new.
Bring back the original team, or don’t bother doing anything at all. I’ll just wait for @SethMacFarlane to develop a parody series for Stargate like he did with The Orville (which Star Trek fans adore).
Original producers or bust. #SaveStargate
@Hofherr104@AmazonMGMStudio I considered that idea at first, but it’s been a month. They have been posting an increasing amount of mocking type content, presumably directed at Stargate fans (who are the majority of all comments). #SaveStargate

@BaronDestructo Hey, just noticed what looks like you sitting at the blackjack table with @bradtravelers in SGA season 5 ep19 Vegas. Who are the two ladies in between?
