Why does your forex trade open in the red?

It's not a loss. It's the spread.

Every pair has a buy price and a sell price. The gap between them is your cost of trading — that's how your broker gets paid.

Your trade just needs to move past the spread before you're in profit.

Tighter spread = lower cost to you.
