Hitting a baseball is simple, we make it complex.
Your hitting improves when you replace personal intention over external instruction.
Learn to hit the ball
1. How you want to
2. When you need to
When your results require someone else’s instruction to produce them. Those results aren’t yours.
Travel ball is a business now, just like everything else. It’s not cheap. The ‘spects got stronger and smarter, every year for a decade, because H does it the right way. He puts your $$ back into the players. Tell guys what they need to hear. Looks at the big picture. #Truth
We close out our Coaches Lineup series with the man who built the standard — the foundation, the vision, and the driving force behind WNY Prospects 👇
JEFF HELMBRECHT – Owner / General Manager / Head Showcase Coach
“Developing players. Inspiring coaches. Building the future.”
I love how Thomas focuses on the most overlooked part of the game. 90% of this is mental. It is, by far, the toughest part to not only teach but learn. Approach, mindset, discipline, mental toughness…it doesn’t happen overnight. You have to train your brain as well as your body
As we continue our Coaches Lineup series, we spotlight one of our own — a former Prospect who’s now leading the next generation through both physical skill and mental growth 👇
THOMAS EVANS – Outfield & Lead Hitting Instructor
“Teaching players to coach themselves.”
With all the access to ‘perfect swing’ videos online and hitting instruction today… shouldn’t hitting at every age group be better than it’s ever been? Pitching keeps getting better — so why not hitting?
If you want to learn how to train your mind at an elite level, I broke it all down on the Eat, Sip & Chat Podcast. 🎙️

⚡ Undiscovered Prospects — Discover yourself so the world can discover you.
Everyone teaches hitting fundamentals through video 🎥
But the game isn’t played in slow motion, nor should you think about fundamentals in game in the box
⚾ Pitching has evolved (simple mechanics, tunneling, strategy).
Hitting? Still “execute these movements” + in game “yes yes no”
That’s the best hitting has gotten?
The future of hitting = feel, rhythm, approach 🧠🔥 10% fundamentals 90% mental game
I am excited to announce my commitment to SUNY Niagara to continue my academic and athletic career! Thanks to all my family and coaches for pushing me to the next level. Thanks coach @MClingersmith for giving me the opportunity to play at the next level. #rollwolves
