High on the slopes of Mount St. Helena in California, Executive Editor Jim Gordon visited the estate of Peter Michael Winery to taste with Winemaker Robert Fiore. Two wines particularly stood out for their impressive quality and balance: the Chardonnay Knights Valley Belle Cote 2023 and the Pinot Noir Fort Ross-Seaview Ma Danseuse 2023.

Some excellent terroir-driven sauvignon blanc is made at Clos Henri in Marlborough, New Zealand. I appreciated my visit there checking out their vineyards and tasting a range of the wines about 10 days ago. Clos Henri is owned by the same family in France’s Loire Valley who make Henri Bourgeois Sancerre. #wine #vineyards #newzealand
