I once wrote a song called ‘Where Do The Children Play?’ meaningful to many of us perhaps, but totally meaningless to the poor children of Palestine. They are just asking for a place to sleep, some food to eat, a night without fear of being bombed or losing their limbs, a chance to kiss their mothers goodnight without the threat of being dragged off to prison without charge, before the sun rises.

Read every single name. Each child is the soul of an entire family. Kill the child and the tragedy spreads widely, with unimaginable pain and grief. Israel knows it all too well. This is no ‘collateral damage’, but the cynical, colonial ‘politics of elimination’.
Nelson Mandela said: ‘The true character of society is revealed in how it treats its children.’ Gaza’s children are the formal responsibility of the occupying Israeli governments.
