I have been out of the loop for a while. I had small (huge was my wife's word) problem. I had a slight (massive was the doctor's word) infection. Which resulted in a (four was my wife's word) seizure. I was unconscious for a short time (again, 1 week was the doctor's word) and
hospitalized for the past month. The infection was NOT Covid-19 nor encephalitis. Doctors, physical, occupational, & speech therapists agree that there was no permanent damage & I will make a full recovery.

This is not "without precedent". 1918 pandemic, aka Spanish flu, resulted in perhaps 50 million worldwide deaths. It was made worse by the mobilization of troops for WW I. Troops were concentrated for training, transshipment, and assignment to the trenches. The trenches were
filthy. The troops were shelled & gassed, which sent them to hospitals where they were concentrated again--this time in a weakened condition.

@Fired_Soon It's part of informal military lingo. It starts with SNAFU (situation normal: all f*cked up) and ends with FUBAR (f*cked up beyond all recognition). So, it's not modern "hip" lingo. It comes from WWII. JANFU=joint army navy f*ck up. FUBU=f*cked up beyond understanding.
