One AL executive to @Feinsand on the Red Sox potential deadline sell-off:
“Gray’s market will be limited by his salary, Contreras is an acquired taste, Duran is having a down season, and Chapman will be a rental reliever. The potential returns for that group will be tempered.”
Multiple officials told @timbhealey that Craig Breslow might benefit from having an interpreter of sorts, someone with a more traditional baseball “fabric” and personable demeanor to convey his message.
Some in the organization believe Chad Tracy could fill that role because he’s comfortable pushing back.
Jacob Misiorowski is one of the best pitchers in the world. He also has a binder of Pokémon cards that is nearly as large as him -- and he is 6-foot-7.
Don't cover the Red Sox (obviously) but can say this with 100 % certainty when it comes to the industry: Alex Cora is, overwhelmingly, considered far better at his job than Craig Breslow is at his. And it's not remotely close.
The Red Sox announced at the beginning of the offseason that this was their shortstop, no further evaluation needed. For a team that preaches flexibility, they sure put themselves into a lot of unnecessary corners.
Trevor Story has committed 11 errors in his last 34 games at shortstop.
Finished 3rd in errors last year with 19. Has 4 so far this season, which only trails Junior Caminero with 5. Currently in the 7th percentile for OAA. Not the defensive rebound the Sox were hoping for.

One day, all 68 tournament teams will be able to play home games on the exact day and time of their choosing. This how how these programs and coaches think it should work apparently
Well, #RetrieverNation. Despite playing Saturday, finding out last night around 6:30 that we are in the First Four playing Tuesday, and getting our travel arrangements around 10 pm, we loaded up the plane this morning for a Noon flight to Dayton to play Howard. We’re still sitting here. Even though Howard is already in Dayton, we will be ready...if we ever take off
@tylermilliken_ Your Yoshida commentary has me convinced you leave the room every time he hits. Consistent, good professional hitter and gets treated like he’s incapable
