@FrankMikeDavis1 "Tonight I say this to my Republican colleagues who are defending the indefensible: There will come a day when Donald Trump is gone, but your dishonor will remain." - Representative Liz Cheney (6/9/2022).
@Liz_Cheney I totally agree. America is not a tin-pot dictatorship. This country was founded by men who stood up to a King. Not by men who "fell in love" with dictators like Kim Jong Un, spoke of "terminating" our Constitution, and referred to our military as suckers and losers.
The Boston Globe reports that Trump circulated a post calling for Liz Cheney to be prosecuted by a military tribunal. (“Retruth if you want televised military tribunals.”). By his post, Trump has proved that he is unfit to be President. America is NOT a tin-pot dictatorship!
@AOC Since you care about human rights, you should call for the unconditional surrender of Hamas. Israel left Gaza in 2005. Imagine how good life could have been there if aid had gone to the economy rather than to terror tunnels, rockets, and billions for "leaders" living abroad.
@joshbloch So instead of calling themselves "Twitter", evoking images of a bird, they will now call themselves "X"?
Evoking images of the UI control on a (Microsoft Windows) window that makes the window and/or application go away?
@joshbloch Josh,
Very sorry to hear about your loss. My condolences to you and your family. My own mother passed away in April, so I have some idea of what you must be going through.
@joshbloch@Intuit It seems to me that the IRS knows enough to be able to pre-load the data in an e-file tax application (or in editable .PDF tax forms). A taxpayer could look over the data and correct it if needed.
Less time filling out forms, and less chance for typos.
@rlynch356@BHRondeau_@WilliamShatner There is a difference between owning copyright, and owning a legal copy. But if you buy a CD-Audio disc, you own a copy that nobody can "turn off" remotely. Not like a DIVX-Silver disc where somebody paid to own the movie – and the vendor later turned it into a coaster.
@WilliamShatner I buy most of my music on CDs. When I buy songs in electronic form from iTunes, I get AAC files that don't have (DRM/copy perversion).
Whomever told you that digital locks (of any form) are the same thing as copyright misinformed you badly.
@joshbloch I got all 8 questions right the first time. Have to say that I much prefer single-stream recycling (where I live now) to standing in front of noisy can/bottle machines at supermarkets, feeding them cans/bottles one at a time (where I lived previously).
@AfterMe_LEO @AMAZlNGNATURE I hate to say it, but if someone came up alongside these guys on a bike, and they were hungry, they'd probably think "Fast food!"
@FearStephen@CNN Presumably, if they extended this work to humans, it would allow two gay men, or two lesbians, to have a baby that was biologically a child of both of them (as opposed to being biologically a child of at most one).
@joshbloch@iiirogers Would this be the book?
"The Preparation of Programs for an Electronic Digital Computer" (1951) (Maurice V. Wilkes, David J. Wheeler, and Stanley Gill). Complete with emphasis on a library of subroutines (API).

@TalksShane @ProjectLincoln The spending that requires raising the debt ceiling is already locked in.
The choice is to raise the debt ceiling so the Treasury Department can pay existing, current obligations, or to force the Treasury Department to welsh on our debts, tanking our economy for years to come.
@RonFilipkowski "Russia has achieved all of their objectives" - Like having their military being exposed as much weaker than anyone thought? And revealing their grand strategy to be a steady diet of lies and war crimes against civilians?
@DavidRo03389232 I've switched to heavy-duty reusable plastic bags for nearly all of my grocery shopping. This eliminates the need to return single-use bags for recycling and I don't have to worry about bags tearing open. Just took getting used to storing reusable bags in the trunk of my car.
