1. More billionaires are associated with less poverty.
2. Increasing billionaires per capita by ten fold lowers poverty by 43 percentage points.
3. Sweden has more billionaires per 10M people than the U.S. (34 vs 30)
4. Correlation is fairly strong (R-squared of 0.6 for two variable cross-section data)
4. Since the graph is only a correlation, what do you think is the cause?

Afghanistan is one of two countries where wild polio continues to circulate.
Afifa, Mursal, Parasto and community mobilizers and vaccinators like them are on a mission to change that.
Through their determination, 12.7 million children have been vaccinated against the disease.
“Our work has not yet finished, our work still continues until we eradicate polio,” says Afifa.

Brothers Hamza, 16, and Jamal, 12, remember their lives in Gaza before the war - one with notebooks, schoolbags, a bicycle.
Watch and share their story.
Children in Gaza still dream of and aspire to a better future. A ceasefire that protects them must be a reality.
India saw about 496 million people lifted out of poverty between 2011 and 2023 in one of the world’s fastest declines in this metric, the World Bank said, although the gains remain uneven. https://t.co/4RD7JC4lG2
Demanding economic growth has become unfashionable among some people in Europe.
Instead they speak of a “cost of living crisis”.
But it’s really one and the same.
Economic growth means that incomes rise relative to prices.
Economic growth means that the things we need become more affordable.
Wiliam Nordhaus was one of the greats - and an incredibly good, kind, humble, and generous person, with the highest standards. Let's mourn, and let's also celebrate him.
