Who Broke Michigan
Who cracked the mitten
our grandparents built?
Who dimmed the cities
that once lit the world?
Who watched our roads crumble,
our schools struggle,
our small towns disappear
Then stood behind a podium
and called it progress?
Now Michigan wears bandages
where leadership left wounds.
The gauze is fraying.
The cracks are spreading.
And behind it all,
faded but not forgotten
46th.
How much further must we fall
before anger becomes action?
How many families must leave?
How many communities must break?
How many promises must fail
before we stop accepting excuses?
Michigan’s people are not the problem.
We are the workers.
The builders.
The farmers.
The dreamers.
The hands still trying to hold
this broken state together.
Michigan does not need pity.
Michigan needs better.
If you feel the heartbreak behind this image,
share it.
Share it for every forgotten town.
Every exhausted family.
Every voice that was ignored.
Let it travel farther
than the excuses ever did.
Michigan is wounded
but Michigan is watching.
