TPD detectives are conducting a death investigation in the 300 block of W. Main St.

At 10:03 p.m., officers responded to the area in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim who had succumbed to his injuries.

TPD received reports of shooting at Thomasville High School at 9:21 am on the non-emergency number. TPD & other LEO agencies responded & determined the call to be a hoax or "swatting" call. Schools are closed for spring break.

TPD is on the scene of a fatal train accident involving Amtrak and a pedestrian. The accident occurred near the intersection of Turner St and Main St at 7:56 a.m. More information will be released at a later time pending the notification of next-of-kin. Please avoid the area.
