Delighted my research on No.11 Parnell Sq East now features in Poetry Ireland’s & Irish Heritage Trust’s beautifully restored Dublin HQ. No.11 is one of the most important Georgian townhouses in Dublin.
Only @LimerickCouncil would celebrate demolishing a traditional, 19th century, limestone railway bridge. The added music, voice over and smiling group photo at the end says everything about their treatment of built heritage. If it was scheduled to go, why the crass video?
The IHSA is greatly saddened to learn of the passing of Dr Deirdre McMahon, one of the stalwarts of our association. Deirdre was instrumental in keeping the association going over the years. She will be sorely missed (arrangements to follow).
Ballyneale House, Co. Limerick for sale for €725k. Sold in 2007 for €8m. In recent times it was offered for €2.5m. It seems that vacant possession is not possible. The house was owned by John Cox, a notorious middleman during the famine years. #Limerick

Can we have a Catherine Hayes statue or mural in #Limerick? The Opera Square project is named for her, yet the city has never honoured her with a permanent monument. 2026 will mark 165 years since her death. @LimerickCouncil@limerick_2030 More info: https://t.co/vEcouZif9S
The Limerick Chapter of the IGS in association with Peter Carroll, head of architecture, school of architecture, University of Limerick are proud to arrange an event for Heritage Week 2025. If anyone attended Peter’s lecture last November, the tour will bring the slides to life!
Very disappointed in the lack of interest from officialdom in #Limerick in marking the 250th anniversary of Daniel O’Connell’s birth. Limerick was the first city to have an O’Connell monument. Only event: walking tour by an ents company that specialises in discos and debs balls.
Yesterday, @irishhistory and I spoke about the life and legacy of Daniel O'Connell in @ExpGlasnevin The podcast will be dropped next Thursday 31st to mark @Postvox stamps commemorating 250th anniversary of O'Connell's birth. My first time on a podcast was fun!
An epic day in Offaly with the Limerick Chapter of the IGS. One of our most enjoyable day-trips. Thanks to Elaine & Steven Nevin, Brian Kennedy & Lord & Lady Rosse
