Spoke with #EWU men's basketball player Andrew Cook today in Cheney. In short, the NCAA denied his waiver request, and so he entered the transfer portal at the recommendation of the Eagles coaches. It's complicated.

The third-seeded #EWU men are done after an 81-68 loss to No. 7 seed Idaho in the Big Sky Tournament semifinals.
The Eagles just couldn't buy a 3 when they needed one. The Vandals made a few of them late to put the game away.

Idaho will play No. 4 seed Montana on Wednesday.

MSU tied it with a 3 late in regulation, and then EWU missed a key free throw and then a 2 in the final seconds of OT. Either would have tied it.

It's Eastern's first victory at the Big Sky men's basketball tournament since 2022, first trip to the semifinals since 2021, when the Eagles won the tournament.

Eagles will play No. 7 Idaho in the semifinals at 8:30 p.m. Pacific time on Tuesday. Game will air on ESPN2.
