I blog and tweet about teaching chemistry (often with a technology lens).
Going through some old documents/pictures/papers and found a paper copy of something really cool. My dad was a published environmental chemist.

This was published about a year before he passed away.
I've not been posting much at all lately. Too dang busy!
But today changed my mind about posting again.
I attended a QPR Suicide Prevention training. Well worth the two hours I spent learning how to be there to support students, friends, and family that might need it.
@nhannahjones I am sure you are busy, and understand if it doesn't work out.
The students are preparing a virtual assembly, and a brief "visit" from you would create real joy in these students.
Thank you for considering.
@nhannahjones
Hello Ms. Hannah-Jones. I shared your interview on Code Switch with the Black Student Union at my school and they were inspired by your work.
My students would like to invite you to participate in our Black History Month assembly.

@pchemstud Thank you! I plan on lurking here in Twitter amongst the chemists to satisfy my curiosity. And I'm guessing I'll visit more chemistry classes this year than any other.
Well...the process has been long and laborious...but it happened.
I accepted a position as Assistant Principal at Bremerton High School. I will no doubt miss the classroom, but after 27 years I think I'm ready.

I will still be following science folks here to satisfy my curiosity.
But...my content focus will be changing a bit.
Thank you all for being part of the best P.D. I've experienced over the years.
To new adventures!
@Dr24hours@EpicHeroFitness Just looked it up on WTA. Looks like a good hike with some decent gain, and Poo Poo Point at the top.
Thanks for the suggestion. It's on my list now.
@Dr24hours@EpicHeroFitness Do you have a favorite trail from the Hwy 18 "summit" parking lot? Looking to start using Tiger Mountain for some hikes this summer and that's one of the closest areas for me.
Thanks.
@notphlogiston I'm happy to chat as well. Feel free to fire me an email. I've now done AP for a couple years, so that comparison is something I can touch on also.
Privileged to have known one of the chemists highlighted in this article, Dr. Gouterman, at @UWChemistry
I didn't work directly in his lab, but he was somebody I enjoyed working with at every opportunity.
Irony is people attacking teachers by saying that they โdonโt care about the kids,โ when, for many of us, the ONLY reason we stay in education (in spite of the impossible expectations, low pay, unpaid hours, buying supplies, etc.) is because we care so much about our students.
@chemhemling @notphlogiston @Classkick Thank you for sharing!
I hadn't thought of Classkick...as I used it in the past with iPads, and I don't have them here.
Do you have iPads? Chromebooks?
Thank you.
