Iran sits on massive domestic oil reserves with very low extraction costs (easy conventional fields).
They actually use their own black gold for its people >> national resource = national benefit.
Smart tiered subsidies keep energy affordable for everyday families while controlling waste.

No middlemen draining the system.

Now let’s talk reality in the USA… Even with record oil production,
Americans pay $1.10–1.30+ per liter ($4.20–4.90+/gallon).

Here’s the full chain breakdown:
Crude oil (producer level + huge margins): ~50-51% — Companies like Shell, Exxon sell into the global market at world prices (way above their costs).
Refining (costs + big margins): ~16-20%
Distribution & marketing (middlemen, transport, branding): ~11-20%
Taxes (federal + state): ~17-18%+
Total middlemen/profit markup + taxes: well over 90-100% of the pump price is layers of corporate profits, middlemen, and government revenue.

Basically everything after bare production cost gets marked up and taxed. No broad subsidies.

So tell me… who really puts their citizens first?
