@NickHintonn A homeless man stole my car in Chicago. The next morning, CPD actually found my car and gave me a call. The homeless guy just wanted a warm place with a radio for the night. I got the car back. The Lord works in mysterious ways.
@NickHintonn I’m in a similar boat. I finally returned home last Thanksgiving and I’ve been living with my parents. I decided to go through the problem instead of around it. Best decision I ever made. Your family is the spiritual final boss.
I’m done with all the spiritual questing and pilgrimages. It’s exhausting and kind of pointless. You don’t need the holiest elders or holiest monasteries to be saved. It definitely helps. But sometimes you just need to go home and love your family.
One of the most important questions we can ever ask ourselves is: “What’s REALLY holding me back?” Most people immediately look outward. They blame demons, archons, bad luck, the government, the patriarchy, their parents, or the people around them. It’s comforting to believe the obstacle is somewhere outside ourselves, because then we don’t have to change. But if we’re honest, we often have to admit that the thing that has shaped our lives more than anything else is the accumulation of our own choices, habits, fears, and decisions.
This isn’t about blaming yourself, but it is the first step to reclaiming your power. The moment you stop searching for the enemy “out there” and begin looking at the patterns within yourself, your life becomes something you can actually transform. The laboratory doesn’t lie. Your life is showing you exactly where the work is. Ask yourself, without excuses or self-deception: what’s holding me back?
The answer may be uncomfortable, but it’s also the doorway to freedom.
@NickHintonn Nick, have your read the story of Narcissus and Echo. I think you might be Echo, not Narcissus. We all have traits of narcissism, but that doesn’t make a narcissist. Hope this helps.
