This picture of Major Jason Watson made me think of that famous Edward Abbey quote:

"A Patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government."

This is a man. A real man.

A man who will never have to buy a drink for himself for the rest of his life.

People are traveling, gathering together, barbecuing, celebrating the 250th anniversary of this nation in various ways. And then we have this…

An American service member using his right to free speech, guaranteed in our nation’s constitution. A right given to all of us every day. Regardless of your political affiliation, read or watch Major Jason Watson’s full statement. It’s powerful. He has served and is serving. He is speaking up and out, and for that he was arrested.

Free speech, freedom of religion, a free press, the freedom to vote for who you choose, the freedom to love who you choose. These are all things we celebrate on our nation’s birthday. They are what makes us a democracy, among many other things. So as you gather, as you grill, as you plan your day, think of Major Watson, think of the freedoms you hold dear, and don’t just celebrate them, but make sure generations to come will have these rights as well! 🇺🇸

Major Jason Watson risked his career and future to stand up for what’s right.
History remembers those who were willing to risk everything when silence would have been safer.
This is what courage looks like.💯

ABD'de aktif görevdeki Hava Kuvvetleri Binbaşı Jason Watson, üniformasıyla Trump karşıtı protesto yaptığı için Kongre merdivenlerinde kelepçelenerek gözaltına alınması dünya gündemine oturdu.

Dünyaya özgürlük dersi veren ABD'nin gerçek yüzü budur...

Major Jason Watson answered questions before taking his stand on the Capitol steps yesterday. He risked everything to demonstrate his love for the country on its 250th birthday. #JasonWatson

#gmb this morning . Four incredibly wealthy women casually chatting away at how best to cut benefits for people who have next to nothing.
What a country eh

Huge thanks to all the NHS staff who are doing their best to keep the health service going despite having 10% fewer staff than we need.

We see what you do, and couldn’t be more grateful 💙
