@gobagel@_angelica_toy @SassygalYEG Agreed the language was confusing. Had to read it twice.
CBC had a thorough article and the judge himself said "Jal was a fine young man"

We received a request from the United States for specific support in protection against "shaheds" in the Middle East region. I gave instructions to provide the necessary means and ensure the presence of Ukrainian specialists who can guarantee the required security. Ukraine helps partners who help ensure our security and protect the lives of our people. Glory to Ukraine!
@_angelica_toy "In addition to the seven-year youth sentence, the judge imposed a two-year weapons prohibition and ordered the forfeiture of the Chiappa M1-9 semi-automatic rifle used in the killing"
The cold blooded murderer has to give the murder weapon back.
@airwei221@liberal_party@MarkJCarney China is lowering tariffs on canola from 84% to 15% March 1st.
Expanding a 4 billlion canola market with China to purchase more Canadian products 🇨🇦
That sounds like EXPANDING industry opportunities to me

Just days ago: “if he can get a deal with China that’s a good thing. He should do that.”
Today’s tariff temper tantrum has nothing to do with China, and everything to do with Trump’s fragile ego being upstaged by Carney at Davos.
Trump has:
- sought and made his own deals with China, including giving them access to advanced Nvidia chips which will massively help the PRC in the AI race;
- carved out a huge quota for Chinese foreign students, despite espionage concerns from intelligence agencies;
- repeatedly expressed his profound admiration for the dictator Xi (“an amazing guy,” “a great leader,” etc) including at Davos this week;
- been ambiguous about the willingness of the US to defend Taiwan from Chinese aggression
- Maintains higher levels of trade with China than Canada (10.9% of US trade vs 7.9% of Canadian trade)
