So it turns out I can't post a tweet here pointing to my #Mastodon account because Twitter now considers that federated collection of sites "unsafe".
Apparently, it hasn't noticed that I have the account linked from my Profile, if anyone is interested.
Bye, Elon.
House Republicans revere the Constitution so much they're going to read it aloud at the first session of the new House. Perhaps they could first take a moment to criticize and denounce this dangerous anti-Constitutional appeal by a man they've defended, supported, and cheered on?
@pedzz_bd We are assured that "Robots equipped in this manner would only be used in extreme circumstances to save or prevent further loss of innocent lives." That sounds like the guidelines of all use-of-deadly-force regulations, and we know how well that works out today.
The Right: The only defense against violence is an armed populace, protected by the Second Amendment.
Elon's Twitter: But not if we're talking about #lgbtq people.

@smellsofbikes@dcleverley Thanks. I have my hands full with Mastodon, but I know Discord has been another refugee site from here, and I'll make a note of that.
So, while things here are getting more and more fraught (from tech/social/ethical perspectives), I am spending (and enjoying) more of my time over on Mastodon, where I am https://t.co/MfRXM0sgKE for anyone who wants to find me over there.
Not giving up the birdsite yet, but ...
@elonmusk@getpaidwrite Do you have a specific checklist of what constitutes the "woke mind virus"? Particular ideologies, beliefs, calls to action? "Woke" has become nearly meaningless from overuse as "anything I don't like."
TL;DR: "We should stop talking about the past! We should just line up and march with Donald Trump, because he wants us to ignore the past (except for the whole Make America Great Again thing) and move forward and stop talking about all his legal troubles, please."
In a weird rant, Trump’s lawyer says it is “unconstitutional” for people to argue about politics at Thanksgiving, that the country never used to be divided, and the best way to bring the country together again is to drop all these legal cases and investigations against Trump.
Unfortunately, I have covered mass shootings multiple times in my career. This is the first time I can recall getting message after message from viewers like this.
The attack on Paul Pelosi was the mark of a new phase on the far right, where even the pro forma expression of sympathy for the victim was dispensed with. Now we see that even victims of a mass shooting are seen as worthy of gleeful insult. Pure eliminationism.
The Colorado shooter’s dad on finding out his son murdered people: “They started telling me about the incident, a shooting... And then I go on to find out it’s a gay bar. I got scared, ‘Shit, is he gay?’ And he’s not gay, so I said, phew… I am a conservative Republican.” (@CBS8)
