Looking back at this, and this man inspires me to be a great artist and author like Toriyama. I’ve been lazy for weeks now and this motivation keeps me up and going. Thank you.

I used to be a lazy artist,
The kind that post a work and then disappears for months, the kind that skips tutorials and other training because it’s too long, the kind who never finishes his commissions because of a lack of motivation. And then, one day, I heard about the TEZUKA MANGA CONTEST, a contest that opened internationally to celebrate the 100th anniversary of tezuka editions with a jury of great mangaka such as oda, kishimoto, inoue.. and of course toriyama. It was by participating to this contest that I realized that my lazeness didn’t allow me to draw what I wanted, so I abandoned the contest because I didn’t want toriyama to read a work that I wasn’t satisfied with. I then began to become more productive in order to improve more and more to reach the level I wanted. I have participated in many Japanese manga contest in order to get as close as possible to him. It may seem crazy, but my goal was to meet him and show him the Dragon Ball fan fiction I had been preparing for a few years. Today, I know this goal is no longer achievable, but I still want to do this fan fiction in tribute to the artist who inspired me.

Dragon ball was for me the reason why I still draw today, and even if he can’t read this, I want to thank you for being the motivation I needed to find a purpose in my life.

the older i get, the more i enjoy & respect my peace. I been declining travel, i look at messages a lot less (which means i aint ignoring you on purpose but i just aint looking at it), and i just make myself less available for everything.
