The math involved in reading any good self-improvement book:
As you read the first 1/6th of the book, it's knowing that you want it; the next 2/3rd is believing that others need it more than you; and by the last 1/6th, it's understanding exactly why you needed it most.
While watching a TV show, we note a lack of range in the person playing lead detective.
In a scene where she says, "Get the canines!"
Me: I hope they're not cadaver dogs because they're gonna get sidetracked looking for where her "Aspirations to be a Better Actor" are buried!
When my dentist started giving me the price for a crown, I asked, "How much for a tiara instead?" I figure, it's smaller so it's gotta cost less, right?
Overheard a woman at work referring to a photo of a brutha as a "tall glass of chocolate milk". I looked at myself and noticed that I'm shaped more like a sippy cup of chocolate milk.
If LinkedIn really wants to impress me when asking to Connect w/ cow-orkers, it should have four options:
"Don't know that person";
"Know that person, but don't care";
"Know that person, but wish I didn't"; and
"Yeah, ok, whatever"
At work, "A rising tide lifts all boats" sounds great until you get cow-orkers to understand that they make up the crew of the Titanic so more water is really not gonna help them much.
So I'm watching "Tournament of Champions IV". Never have I heard the expression "O.G." uttered by so many white folk. I abhor phrases such as "cultural appropriation", it's a non-starter. But I will acknowledge that if "O.G." wasn't done, it's dead now!
Good cooking comp though.
Before moving to Georgia, I leaned more toward apolitical/anarchy. But, this place teaches me more every day that Freedom is more than a vague concept.
