It would be better for them to have a clean break as they deal/sort themselves out but the writers are having their cake & eating it too. Making it seem like its a show with cheating.

The writers are not helping the show because they are intentionally showing the main leads with the 2nd leads inferring an emotional connection while the main leads grow further apart.

Was the person cheated on a toxic & problematic individual who mistreated their partner? Writers need to commit to the break up if they are going to be interested in other people, no wishy washy or out/in nonsense
