Two things are needed for this "Radicalisation":

1. A growing disdain for the modern world.

2. The discovery and belive in an alternative way of living.

Our modern world takes care of the first one just fine by itself for everyone who has eyes to see.

The second point is the crux.
Our modern world only presents one way of living. Alternatives are burried, ridiculed or mere part of fantasy.

If you find an alternative that you are willing to live, go for it! We all know that the "rat-race" has nothing of value to offer.

Some things in life can be better precieved when out of focus. When we do not concentrate too much on it.

One very good example for me personally is in the night sky, the star cluster Pleiades.
