Trent Busher-Stanislas, in his 2nd year throwing discus has had a remarkable progression. Trent’s PR from 2025 was 128’3”. In 2026, after EMBRACING the sport, he took off!

Tatum Lee has been the AZ State Discus leader ALL SEASON. On Saturday, she was the winner at AIA Championships. In the last two weeks:Div1 Shot Put Champ, Div1 Discus Champ, AIA Shot Put Runner-Up, and AIA Discus Champ. THUNDERSTRONG!

Sr Tatum Lee wins the Discus on Saturday going 150ft. Tatum joins a group of special athletes at DV that have won 2x Div1 Championships, including her older brother, Owen, and her coaches Deshon Toney, and Torrey Hickel. She is SPECIAL! Congrats Tatum! We are Incredibly Proud

Sr Tatum Lee joined the Thunderthrows group of AZ Div1 State Champs last Thursday by winning the Shot Put! Tatum put together her best meet/series of throws this season. She CONSISTENTLY does ALL OF THE THINGS that CHAMPIONS do…and it shows in BIG COMPS!

Sr Lizzy Gannon with a 1ft PR. Lizzy hit 35’5.25” to place 6th in the Div1 Shot Put. She did this after Long Jumping 19’1” just 15minutes before the Shot Put comp. Lizzy will be a multi-event athlete for the Nebraska Cornhuskers next year!

Thunderthrows Alum Rex Moore (DV-2015) Graduates from UT-Austin with his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Now…DR MOORE! Super Proud of Rex! He’s currently working on a new type of inhaled antibiotics to treat lung and respiratory infections. Making the world a better place!

Back in 2018, 76.3% of athletes at the @NCAATrackField DI Outdoor Championships were from the United States. Seven years later, that number is 64.6%, as an influx of international talent has chosen to compete in the U.S. collegiate system.
