@PressSec Birthright citizenship and ICE arrests have absolutely nothing to do with each other, and jamming them into the same post is deliberate spin.

The Supreme Court ruled on the 14th Amendment and whether babies born here are citizens. That’s constitutional law. ICE arrests are civil immigration enforcement. Different laws, different people, different issues. One has nothing to do with the other.

And let’s be honest, DHS lies and has every incentive to inflate these numbers and frame them in the most politically useful way possible. They’re counting “charged or convicted” together because they know most people will hear “criminal” and stop thinking. Charged is not convicted. That could mean an accusation, a dropped case, a misdemeanor, or a traffic ticket. It’s a propaganda trick.

And when you compare that to actual ICE detention data, about 70% of detainees have no criminal conviction at all. That completely blows up the lie.

So no, this isn’t proof of some crime wave being rounded up after a birthright ruling. It’s DHS spinning numbers, and you lying to the American people to try to make it look like this administration isn't the most corrupt and inept to ever exist.
