Thanks to the amazing Scouts who built it. Thanks to my hubs for transporting it. Thanks to @hsefoundation for supporting the project. Thanks to @HSESchools for allowing teachers to be innovative.
I am so excited! One phase of our Helping the Monarchs is complete.
This will be used to raise butterflies in a safe environment. My students will get a special view as the habitat sits outside my classroom windows.
She finally got approved. Tonight we dropped the materials off so she can work on it. I am so excited to see the final product….eventually.
Thank you again to @hsefoundation.
Progress can be slow. Last year our nature club got a grant for a Monarch habitat and waystation. We’ve been meeting with experts and doing a LOT of planning. We have a scout who is going to build the habitat as her Eagle Scout project.
@OfficialBlueyTV my child is really good at “bending the truth” and then gets upset when I don’t believe them. This could be a great situation for Chilli and Bandit to deal with. Bluey is a family favorite. ❤️
Kids were excited because they asked to take our picture when we bought the last copy of Dinosaur World. Can’t wait to try all the new games from GenCon.
Teachers everywhere, may I suggest a book you should do as a read aloud in your class. It shows what can happen after someone objects to one book. I loved this book the first time I read it and I feel it is very pertinent to our current times. Fight ignorance with knowledge.
@rbehning It would be great if you actually supported public education and the teachers who are giving everything these days. Kowtowing to parents who have zero pedagogy is a disgrace.
@Somethi75740529 @MFullhart Have you talked to teachers or even volunteered in a school lately? The expectations grow throughout the year, without things being taken away. On top of that teachers now have to spend time explaining themselves to people who haven’t been in a classroom since they were students.
3 weeks of hard work and the final projects are amazing. Check them out at the end of this video! Thank you again to @hsefoundation for supporting us! @birdbraintech love the tech! #RSISTEM#TeamThursty https://t.co/kJPSkO1ukV
I’m so grateful the @hsefoundation helped to make this dream come true. This week we will begin crafting our floats. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been this excited about a project! #teamthursty@birdbraintech
Teachers get ideas from anywhere. Last year someone shared the book “Balloons Over Broadway” with me. It inspired me to have my students make floats while we were all stuck at home for virtual learning.
Then I watched season 2 episode 1 of LEGO Masters where they made moving floats. I wanted to do our project again…on a bigger scale. @hselibrarydude showed me the Hummingbird kits and I knew that’s what I wanted to do.
