The apostles repeatedly spoke about a falling away in the late 60s A.D. (2 Tim. 3:1-17, 1 Jn. 2:18-19). This included Elders and Teachers from the Churches that the Apostles planted (Acts 20:26-31, 2 Pet. 2:1-2). The faith once delivered unto the saints by the apostles (Jude 1:3) was quickly corrupted by the introduction of many heresies through apostates during the falling away period (Jude 1:17-18).

Who are the Early Church Fathers? We were warned in the Bible not to trust in them, as they were rising to prominence during the falling away period.

Church history erroneously claims it took the Church 300 years to finally decide upon the Trinity. That confusion and debate was brought about by the Early Church Fathers. The apostles knew and all agreed amongst themselves that God is a Trinity, hence they baptized people in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Many Scriptures could be cited to prove this biblical fact.

Church history erroneously claims that the Church did not know what epistles / letters in circulation were inspired Scripture until the Council of Carthage in 397 A.D., but Peter affirmed Paul's letters as Scripture while they were both still alive (2 Peter 3:15-16). This proves that the apostles were doing this with all the letters in circulation. If the apostles did not verify what was Scripture, and what wasn't, they would have been derelict in their duty. The Early Church Fathers brought about debate and confusion about this for hundreds of years after the death of the apostles, but there was no problem while the apostles were still around. That much can be understood directly from the testimony of Scripture.

In conclusion, it is a ploy of Satan to offer an alternative to sincere people who are hoping to get the apostles doctrine correct by receiving and believing the doctrines of the Early Church Fathers.

1 Blessing, 2 Blessings, or All Blessings?

The Bible is very clear on this point. There is no such thing as the Second Blessing. God is not keeping back any blessings from people that are truly saved. There is no such thing as a subcategory of Christians who are blessed with salvation but deprived of other blessings.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:” – Eph. 1:3-4

Notice how Paul speaks of the blessings that have been bestowed upon the Christians at Ephesus in the past tense. They were “blessed” upon being born again. All true Christians are “blessed” with “all spiritual blessings in heavenly places” because we are “in Christ” (Eph. 1:3). This makes perfect sense. All the blessings of the Godhead are in Christ. God could not have given to us anything or anyone more blessed than the Person of Christ (Jn. 3:16). All the treasures of Heaven are vested in Christ (Col. 2:2-3). Therefore, by virtue of being in Christ legally and positionally, all believers have access to “all” the blessings of God (Eph. 1:3).
