Started a Vampire Survivors session earlier today, ran some errands and totally forgot about it and left the game running. Walked into this.
Anyone ever gotten this far? ๐ณ
Marty Stratton, @idSoftware Studio Director, lied about @DOOM Eternal's OST events in a Reddit post that used disinformation to blame me entirely for its failure
Later, he offered me a six-figure sum to never speak about it
The truth is more important.

@Veeg_CVG Last I heard they're just maintaining their current player pool? Barrier to entry is too high at the moment for new players due to leveling requirements. Current practices on removing legacy content are sus. I'm not picking it up again anytime soon. Not a model for success
@Veeg_CVG They said 10 years with D1. I think their plan was to do 5 years with D1 then 5 with D2, which is what is happening currently. This is fine, but it shouldn't be touted as being on a 10 year plan. Technology and expectations change too fast to achieve deliverables and obj's
@Veeg_CVG I'm always skeptical when I hear of these 10 year plans, as they never come to fruition. Several co's have touted it, and few have succeeded. IMO this is the wrong way to go. Support a title for 5 years tops with another in the cooker. People will lose interest. Exception: CSGO
@Veeg_CVG I'd dig that. As long as the proper resources are provided and the time gap mentioned is present, it's a solid mid ground for devs and the community
@Veeg_CVG For sure. Not really aware on the demand for additional Halo projects. Maybe Halo Wars 3? Interested to see what Certain Affinity's Halo BR will look like. I think subgroups would be pleased to see these smaller titles, but I also think there's other priorities atm w/ Infinite
@Veeg_CVG For sure. On the flipside, I'm not sure there are any studios who would want to take a passenger/partner seat on this project though. Each studio wants to do their own thing currently. I think this mentality will bite a lot of studios in the near future. It certainly has to 343i.
@Veeg_CVG The industry is consolidating and concentrating resources on specific projects present day, and has been for some time. I am shocked 343i/Microsoft missed this. Fascinating business case study for sure.
@Veeg_CVG I think two studios need to be on the same title. They can pursue their "priority zero" objective (i disagree with what this objective consists of, but respect its goal), but stronger leadership combined with more talent are needed.
Much can be said about the state of Halo and the path the franchise has taken.
I am deeply saddened, and it seems so is most of the community.
What a tragedy. Halo is not dead, but it is certainly on life support.

In our latest dev update, members of the 343 Industries team discuss the studio's priorities, player experience goals, and offer details on what you can expect with #HaloInfinite in the coming months. https://t.co/C8jAYzZ3Jf
Dude deserves serious props for working with and enduring the travesty that is Halo Infinite's theater system.
HYPED to see this, I've been itching for an Infinite montage ๐
