@ulethedfaculty “OM my…yoga in the life of a student teacher” session happening for the PS2 Wellness Day tomorrow! I love this opportunity to create a space for us to get aligned before heading into practicum. It’s not what we do, but how we do it and why we do it. 🧘🏻♀️🌿
Incorporating Blackfoot Values into Early Education: Kate Lawless (BA/BEd ’21) “Her new name is Morning Star Woman,” says Elder Don Shade, “significant of the fact that she will shed new light in the area of the new initiatives in Education” https://t.co/7AqmFkjJ4G #abed#yql
A happy book shopping find! This book is perfect to tie in letter writing with environment talks in global citizenship! So excited to write letters to the Earth! 🌎💌
Just curious:
Teachers, please RT this if you teach your students about things and topics that are NOT in the curriculum or the textbook you use because you know it’s very important that they learn it.
Grade 1-4 shoes to represent 215 Indigenous children. If Indigenous students were old enough to attend residential schools, our students are old enough to learn about it. We counted, our entire hallway wasn’t enough shoes. Reflect, question, and have empathy. #everychildmatters
Can we just look at how beautiful all these books are?! I can wait to use them in class and have some rec reading for myself! Thanks @UofLBookstore @KariTanaka and Pages on Kensington in yyc (and a few other sellers)
Outdoor classroom today! Ss made fraction hopscotch—can’t decide what the best part was, but the grade 1s saying “THIS IS HEAVEN” when they came out for recess is tough to beat!
@TiennaChang I loved the idea of teachers holding hearts in our hearts.. I had to draw a little visual to go with it. Thank you for such a incredible session!
Excited to take part of the UofL PS2 Wellness Symposium tomorrow afternoon and share the session “OM my...yoga in the life of the student teacher” again! You bet we will be doing yoga, talking isn’t enough! Who’s coming? 🧘🏻♀️ @ULethbridgeEdu
This is the book I needed when I was a kid. I never saw characters that looked like me or talked about the insecurities I had growing up. I can’t wait to share this book with my students! They need to see themselves visibly in the classroom. 😭🥰💞
