Then and now. 🫡
Commander Viper in 1986 → Legend in 2026.
Tom Skerritt gave us 60+ years of cinema — Alien, Top Gun, M_A_S_H, Picket Fences, A River Runs Through It.
93 years, lived fully. From Dallas to Viper, he showed us how to lead with calm, not noise.
Rest easy, Commander. You had a good ride. 🕊️🎬

I spent four hours baking a cake. It fell on the floor, and my 80-year-old grandmother told me a story that changed how I see loss.
Today, I decided to bake a cake.
I spent more money on ingredients than I care to admit. I watched countless tutorials, paused videos to double-check measurements, cleaned as I went, prepared the frosting, and waited patiently for the cake to cool.
THE EMPEROR’S LAST SECRET 🏯
For 20 years, an old servant secretly placed a bowl of rice outside an abandoned palace room every night.
When the new emperor discovered this, he ordered the door opened.
Inside sat an old man wearing the clothes of a former emperor, staring at a faded portrait.
I promised my husband I'd take care of him no matter what, and now I feel like I'm breaking.
Confession
My husband is 28. We’ve been married 4 years. Four months ago on a family vacation, he had an accident at the pool and broke his neck. C3 spinal cord injury.
He was in a coma for 3 weeks. I thought I was going to lose him. When he woke up and the doctors told us he would never move anything below his neck and would need a ventilator to breathe, he cried and said he didn’t want to live like this.
I told him I would take care of him no matter what. And I have tried.
But our life now is so different. We have a 1-year-old, and I’m 7 months pregnant. I work 9 to 5 from home. My sister had to move in to help because I just can’t do everything. I’m exhausted all the time.
I help him with everything — showering, eating, getting in and out of bed, diapers and catheters because he can’t control his bladder or bowels. At night I barely sleep because I keep checking if his ventilator is working and if he’s still breathing. Sometimes I feel like I’m taking care of two babies — my toddler and my adult husband.
The hardest part is emotional. He cries almost every day. He says he hates his life and sometimes says he wishes he was euthanized. Then in the next breath he says he wants to stay alive to see our kids grow up. I don’t know how to help him. I can’t make him walk again. We argue because he doesn’t like how I do some things, but I’m doing my best.
My son is only 1 but he looks sad when he sees his dad like that. And I feel guilty for even thinking this, but sometimes I want to give up. Not because I don’t love him — I love him so much. He’s the father of my children. But because I’m tired, pregnant, overwhelmed, and I feel like there is nothing I can do to fix his pain or mine.
I made a promise. I’m not going to leave him. I just don’t know how to keep going without losing myself.
Has anyone else been a caregiver for a quadriplegic spouse? How did you not break?

Back in 2019, I made a rash decision and came out to my parents as a gay man over email.
They didn't even reply to the email. Instead, they just booked tickets from India to the US and showed up a few months later to see me. While they were here in the US, they told me I need to get married to a woman. They took photos of me and put them up on one of those arranged marriage matrimony sites. For the next 5 years, they would not stop pressuring me to get married. At one point, they even finalized a girl for me without me ever saying yes.
Those 5 years were hell for me. The constant mental pressure to just give in and do what they wanted was so much. You're told coming out will make things better, that you'll finally be free. For me, it did the exact opposite.
Towards the end of 2023, they finally stopped after they understood that I am never going to marry a woman. But then in 2024, my mom got sick. Watching her deal with her health problems made me feel so guilty, so I decided to move back to India after 12 years in the US.
After I moved back, she told me she knows I'm not into women. But even now, my parents still bring up me getting married to a woman sometimes. They've told me that if I try to move to a different city in India, they will move with me. Their whole plan is to make sure I never get to date or find a partner.
I regret coming out to them in early 2019. And I regret moving back to India. I should have known better. People always say coming out to your family is the first step to living your true, authentic life — but for me, it was the first step into a nightmare.
Yesterday I was rewatching Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and it got me thinking Wenwu has an immortal, centuries old global spy network that tracked Shang Chi down to a random valet job in California with zero effort... so how did he completely miss his own daughter?
Let's look at the timeline, Xialing ran away from the compound at age 16, and completely on her own over six years, she built the "Golden Daggers Club" in Macau. We're talking about a massive, high tech, multi story underground skyscraper hosting high profile superhumans like Wong and Abomination.
Yet, we are expected to believe a master warlord couldn't locate a massive, internationally broadcasted, high stakes superhuman gambling ring operating under her literal real name?
THOR TREATING SURTUR'S APOCALYPTIC MONOLOGUE LIKE A BORING TED TALK IS PEAK CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.
Everyone remembers this sequence for setting up Ragnarök, but this scene actually exposes how completely desensitized Thor has become to cosmic threats. Surtur spent a half million years brooding in Muspelheim, waiting to fulfill his destiny of plunging a sword deep into Asgard, only to have the God of Thunder treat his terrifying villain speech like annoying background noise. Thor didn't approach this encounter with panic or reverence; he analyzed a demonic prophecy of doom with the casual indifference of someone critiquing a movie plot hole. Interrupting a legendary fire demon mid sentence just to discuss logistics and poke holes in his evil master plan is an unmatched level of disrespect.
Who had a more humiliating day: Surtur, whose grand rebirth got hijacked by a guy dangling upside down in chains, or Thor, whose existential crisis got interrupted by a guy who wouldn't stop monologuing?
This guy spent over a year in my DMs here on X trying to get my attention. I finally agreed to visit him on a Friday.
He kept inviting me to his apartment, even when I suggested grabbing coffee somewhere. Every time I said no, he’d come back with another reason I should visit. Eventually, I convinced myself I was being paranoid and agreed to stop by Friday afternoon. That Thursday night, I couldn’t sleep.
