@ChrisTrainorSC@GamecockMBB I was there, not good! Now in a new era when only wins matter? In most of your life, and mine, we followed players, (in all sports) knew their history and watched them grow and supported “our own”. In the NIL world, we no longer know the team. Harder to support in tough times!
From a business standpoint, loyalty is an asset.
But in college football, it can become a liability.
South Carolina has one of the most committed fanbases in college football. But when demand never dips, pressure can fade. Incentives shrink. And inconsistency starts to feel… acceptable.
Is unwavering fan loyalty quietly enabling the mediocrity everyone’s frustrated with?
I took a hard look at the Gamecocks’ attendance paradox.

@thestatesports Love it, proud of @FCHSGriffins for taking a stand against unfair competition. Hoping more schools will do the same and force @SCHSL to finally take action on this issue. Make them play up already! See what @OfficialGHSA has done with “out of zone” rules.
@TravRobertson I must disagree, my friend. School choice helps those 785,000 far more than the 15,000. In my opinion it creates opportunity for many more. Help me understand why school choice is a bad thing?
When the state does everything for you, it will soon take everything from you - you will then have no basis for personal freedom, political freedom, or economic freedom.
@CNR_Sports@Coach_ECamp Whereas if a true public school does the same thing, @SCHSL drops the hammer. See what happened to Ridge View football this season. It’s a double standard that is unfair to traditional public schools.
