@CodenomicsACTL Sadly if you play video games in this day in age this is whats needed to have any type of competitive integrity left in your game. This still will fix the cheating problem as a whole as ppl will always use a available option.
@SpartanWarGames@Amiancht@riotgames Good point, this is probably a grey area in how the law works or riot doesn't care because they will countersue and just fight a legal battle with their 30 lawyers.
@Amiancht@SpartanWarGames@riotgames Then how are they not in legal trouble? I feel like this is a Grey area in the law because at one point they are selling hardware that is used to break tos and cheat which then causes riot to do something shady by bricking the device running the firmware. What are your thoughts?
@ItsGamerDoc "You paid 6000 dollars to cheat on a free game?"
"Yes Dave"
"And you decided to take out an installment loan to cheat on said free game?"
"That's correct Dave"
"Uh-huh"
@Amiancht@SpartanWarGames@riotgames I feel like in their tos they probably state that you cant have said hardware installed while playing valorant. I personally think its great that they are bricking people's firmware. Maybe dont be a degenerate and cheat in video games.
@SpartanWarGames@riotgames You're right, but major anticheat providers that operate at the kernal level still get bypassed and dont even require basic mitigation for users such as secure boot and tpm to be enabled.
@Amiancht@SpartanWarGames@riotgames Its not locking any device lol its only bricking the firmware used on the dma card itself. The pc is perfectly fine
