Pt 2 @carolecadwalla The Atlantic article on Wylie - Deloria of 1929 and Cadwalladr of 2019 have the same problem; their research is suspect because of their social interactions with their subjects.
Yes, and thank you for recognizing her daughter Ashley Biden accompanied her mother the First Lady Dr. Jill Biden on her last foreign trip. Most of the news orgs I skimmed the past few days didn't mention Ashley was with her her calling FLOTUS trip "solo." I wrote a post about it earlier today.
Even the @AP photo you present here left her name out in the description. I don't understand it and it's not right. Sigh.
🇺🇸I love and will miss Jill Biden in the White House. The issues she has championed as first lady will live on and include support for military families, education, and research into cancer and women’s health.💙 #ThankYouJillBiden
You probably know this by now but as we stood on the picket line outside the Guardian in a historic strike, our liberal progressive employer convened an emergency meeting to 'sell' us while the strike was actually ongoing.
Whatever happens next, this was a joyful day where the true stakeholders of the Guardian & Observer's journalism celebrated the values that we hold dear: integrity, honesty, truth. 🙏✊
Rep. Jamie Raskin is trying to preempt any Trump effort to oust the in-house watchdogs at agencies across the federal government.
Raskin has sent letters to 32 inspectors general assuring them of his support. He also asked them to reach out if Trump or his allies make any effort to interfere with or replace them. https://t.co/mKYtsQYJzF
🚨NEW: GOP Senator Lisa Murkowski has announced she will not vote to confirm a single Trump Administration appointment until they are fully vetted by the FBI.
RETWEET to thank Murkowski for standing up for our democracy!

A thousand days of full-scale war is a very difficult path, and we are enduring it because we have friends like Denmark by our side, and leaders like Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
I am deeply grateful to Mette Frederiksen for her personal leadership, her team, and the Danish people for their support of Ukraine and our people.
Today, we have a new support package from Denmark, focused primarily on the long-range capabilities that our country urgently needs. Together, we have created a special Danish model for developing Ukraine’s defense industry, and we will continue to strengthen this cooperation. We are already preparing for further joint efforts at the European institutional level.
🇺🇦🇩🇰
Today, together with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, we met with Ukrainian manufacturers of long-range drones and the warriors who operate them.
We inspected Ukrainian drones procured with Denmark’s support and according to the Danish model—funds are allocated to contracts already concluded by the state-owned enterprise with manufacturers.
Denmark is a friend we can truly rely on. Together, we are defending the lives of Ukrainians. Together, we are producing weapons for Ukraine. And together, we are working on recovery from the destruction caused by this war.
🇺🇦 🇩🇰
We’ve now reached the historical moment when Denmark is unquestionably tougher and more realistic in international affairs than any leader of the Republican Party.
A thousand days that Ukraine has bravely resisted an illegal and unjustifiable war of aggression.
A thousand days that Russia has pursued its brutal and imperialist agenda, targeting civilian populations and violating the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter.
A thousand days that we have stood resolutely alongside Ukraine and its people, to ensure the triumph of freedom, peace, and justice.
Our support will not waver.
To sum it up here are the "coincidences" of the last 2 days:
- 2 underwater cables were cut (Finland/Germany and Lithuania/Sweden)
- 2 nuclear reactors malfunctioned in Finland and were shot down, one on Sunday, the other on Monday
- Norway's Massive Johan Sverdrup Oilfield Shut by Power Outage
- Support cable of the Louhunsalmi suspension bridge broke in Finland, leaving 2 Islands almost cutt-off

GM just announced a round of layoffs, impacting 1,000 workers.
But the company reported Q3 earnings that put it on track for record profits this year.
Its CEO received $27M in compensation in 2023.
And GM announced $6B in stock buybacks this June.
Textbook corporate greed.
Attorneys representing Amazon and SpaceX are in court today, arguing that the National Labor Relations Board is unconstitutional.
If they get their way, two of the richest people on the planet will have gutted the enforcement of labor laws designed to protect working people.
